Zhenyu Zhang

Zhenyu Zhang is a second-year student at Boston University School of Medicine’s Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program. He is also a research assistant at the Trauma Center at JRI, where he works with the Neurofeedback research team. He is specifically interested in translating research knowledge and applying imaging and neurofeedback both to shape existing treatments and to develop new therapies for people from diverse background with diagnoses of PTSD and affective disorders. He is also interested in studying the impact of culture, immigration, and race on Asians and Asian Americans, conducting research on this population’s emotional wellness and mental health issues, and delivering culturally-informed and evidence-based mental health treatments to this population. He received his undergraduate degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, China.
