Juliana Chen, MD

Juliana Chen, MD is a clinical fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. She is a current APA/SAMHSA Minority Fellow, a former APA Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow, and previously the chief resident of the inpatient psychiatry service at Boston Children’s Hospital. With funding support through the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program and in collaboration with the MGH Clay Center for Young Healthy Minds, Dr. Chen is currently working on a narrative, multimedia public education initiative focused on reducing stigma and educating Asian-American families about mental health issues, with the ultimate goal of helping Asian-American children and adolescents in need access mental health supports and treatment. Her clinical interests include family-based interventions, parent guidance, resiliency, and emotional wellness. Dr. Chen received her BA degree from the University of Rochester, and her MD degree from Yale University. She completed her adult psychiatry residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital as part of the combined Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program. She is a member of the MGH Department of Psychiatry Center for Diversity, and has been actively involved with training and education, including teaching residents and Harvard Medical students, throughout her training.
