Cynthia Tang, EdM

Cynthia Tang is a licensed Massachusetts school counselor, having transitioned to counseling and education from IT management. Cynthia has been a school counselor at Lexington High School since 2005, and has extensive experience supporting the academic success, college and career readiness, and social/emotional development of a diverse population of students and their families. She is a member of LAMHI (Lexington Asian Mental Health Initiative), founded LACA (Lexington Asian Community Alliance) and is the founder and faculty advisor for ASFA (Lexington High School’s Asian Student Faculty Alliance), which are community, parent, and student/educator organizations respectively committed to building awareness and advocacy of well-being among Asian and Asian American youth and their families in Lexington. She has collaborated with students, educators, administrators, parents, community members/organizations, researchers and research organizations on a number of initiatives, and provides training through both case consultation and presentations/workshops for Lexington K-12 general and special education faculty and administrators. Lexington is a district with a 35% student Asian population, which is 5-6 times the Massachusetts and national average.
